Daystar Hood CowlBy: Paul on 24 February 2019I bought this for my CRD JK Auto to reduce under hood temperatures at low speed and when towing the caravan and to reduce the under hood temperature when parked in the sun for extended periods. I was hoping to extend the life of my battery. Using my scan gauge I found that it does all three and also reduces hood jump when oncoming trucks pass on the highway. The ordering process through Jeep Konnection was fantastic, the price was great and the interstate delivery price was awesome. A great alternative to replacing the bonnet to gain under hood heat reduction.
DAYSTAR JK Hood CowlBy: Paul on 21 February 2019I purchased this product from Jeep Konnection, late 2016. I fitted it to my JK Unlimited 2.8 CRD (5 Speed auto) The aim was to reduce under bonnet heat in low gears, when towing the caravan in the summer reducing the heat in the engine bay and transmission and reduce the ambient temperature of the battery when parked in the sun for extended periods. All aspects were acheived. Using my scan guage to monitor my transmission fluid temperate I have seen a considerable reduction of transmission fluid temperature when towing in summer, the batteries are lasting longer and it has reduced the bonnet lift when heavy vehicles pass. On top of that, it looks pretty cool. The only criticism is that it needs to be blended by the painters prior to painting otherwise it looks a little rippled in the right light. Otherwise this has worked extremely well for me.
